July 26th, 2011Back to basics
July 24th, 2011It seems that when money gets tight, we like to get back to basics and rediscover the simple (and inexpensive) things in life. For some the prospect of sleeping in a field in a tent fills them with dread, but, if you haven’t tried it, don’t knock it! Camping is a way of life in our family and we have managed a camping trip each year for the last 4 years and to be honest, summer wouldn’t be the same without it. We have experienced lots of different campsites all over the country, but, we have settled on Westport house as our campsite of choice. As well as having a very well maintained site with all the usual mod cons, you have the added advantage of a varied choice of activities that are suitable for the whole family. There are lots of new attractions this year too, with Zorbing proving to be a big hit with my two eldest (14 and 8). If you fancy something a little slower paced, you can try the swan pedalos or the lovely train. The tour of Westport house is a must as it would be a shame to miss out on this truly magnificent building. It’s all very accessible and great value. February 2nd, 2011Blogging in earnst!
June 30th, 2010Well, the time has arrived. Nearly three years after I asked, no, TOLD my web designers that I NEEDED a blog section on my website, today is the day I enter “bloggosphere” (is that a word?). Anyway, I have flirted with the whole blogging scene and to be honest my contributions extended no further that promoting bits and pieces that we covered or were about to cover on the radio show, however, I have decided that today is the day I become a blogger! I hope to meander, provoke and entertain. I’m not entirely sure how yet, but you have to start somewhere………..
